Well, that’s interesting…

I’m pondering, should I write this in French or in English ? Both ? Nah.

I know, I’m going to write this in English and I’ll talk about it furthermore in a video in French…when I can talk…

I’m clearly addressing my French readers here, although I think most European and Asian readers will get what I mean.

It’s hard not to be annoyed, here… Maybe it’s just a cultural shock, I don’t know. See, I’ve grown up in a country where the church and the State are separated. And I now live in a country where religion is very discreet but extremism is not tolerated. Also, it’s worth noting that I live in a country where obscene content is not allowed. I will definitely talk about this in a video (probably in French). People really mistake what it means. Briefly : it means you don’t get all this bs violence and women objectified everywhere all the time (adverts, music, etc). You don’t have this desensitization to violence and obscenity that makes people think that violence, harassment, objectifying, etc is ok.

It’s also worth noting that I live in a country where “If a man can do it, a woman can do it too”, was the general motto, a while ago. There are big differences between regions, but yeah, that’s still the main idea. Actually, the majority of coders I’ve met in China are women.

This blog post is not about China, so I’ll just stop here. It’s just to set up the background of my point of view (French and living in China).

I find it so ridiculous when people go and claim you can’t do this or that, because you’re a woman. Are we talking about people from countries where women don’t get access to education and school ? Nope… So yeah…

Based on what ? Just utter stupidity…

Let’s talk about my weight, I wouldn’t have thought anyone in the world would care about that (unless I’m unhealthy, of course). First, something something hd/zooming/optical illusion. You appear fatter on screen, especially when you zoom in. Second, why do they care ? Oh, right, because I’m a woman, and whoever has decided that in the entertainment industry (competitors included ???!!), women should starve themselves in order to look as decided by whoever (and it’s not healthy). When I’m told I should go back to my weight from back then… You know, the time when I got anemia and was underweight. Hmm, no. This is insanity.

I think most people got that it’s better to gain weight before getting a wisdom teeth pulled out anyway… Yeah, you’re going to be hungry… (Let’s make another smoothie…ugh…I want food !!!).

And yeah, the minute I can eat, I’m going to eat. Healthily, of course, let’s not make ourselves ill, but I’m going to enjoy food. Let’s not confuse how to eat and how much to eat either… Cook for yourself… And if you have a problem with this, well then, just starve yourself, but leave me alone. (Yeah, no, actually, don’t starve yourself, just enjoy life).

I’ve said it in the past, apparently it’s controversial, but I don’t care. Nowadays media, entertainment, etc (in English), are giving me the vibe of a “Holy Mary” obsession. They try and pass the idea that women should basically be the Holy Mary… And if a female character is free and strong…she’s evil. This is…interesting… You might argue that it’s not my culture, so I should not be commenting on this. But this is what you see everywhere, all over the world (not here, actually, haha). And this is also the mentality that is being pushed to us online…

Note that I am a catholic myself (well, you know, like most people nowadays, non-practising) and am talking about Christianity only, I don’t want to go and talk about other religions that I don’t really know about.

This “women should be ashamed of being women and should not enjoy life” thingy… Actually this is extremism, not catholicism. Religion is about love and acceptance, not hatred and discrimination. We’re not even sure if any of this is real. Everyone has their own version/god. Who knows…

It’s so…interesting when people (not only from Crazy Corp, but that’s their most used come back) call you a “hoe”, because they have nothing else to say. That shows a lot of their mentality.

“Women should be at home cooking for their father until they get a husband and breed.” “Women are not allowed to enjoy life whatsoever”. “I freaking hate women”. See, that’s all I hear, when someone calls a girl a “hoe”.

Plus, you know the saying “it’s always the guys unable to get some, who call girls a hoe”. Frustration + extremism.

This is also interesting to note that English has no non-pejorative word like in French to describe women who enjoy having fun… (you know, “coquine”, “cochonne”, words like this). English only has badly connoted words, like “slut”, “hoe”, “whore”. Those are insults ! Whereas the words in French above are neutral with no pejorative connotation at all. This is…interesting… (Or correct me if I’m wrong… My English is not the best, but I’ve checked 5 dictionaries.)

Now, let’s talk about the “if you’re having fun you’re going to get STDs” (often with an underlying “this is your punishment from God, woman” meaning…) We’re not talking about people from third world countries who don’t have access to education or contraception here. This is worrying. We’re talking about people from developed countries. Don’t they have education like we have in junior high and high school ? Seriously, when someone in their 20’s or maybe even in their 30’s says stuff like this, wtf ? The mix of lack of education and religious extremism. Especially when this comes from people who are spoke people. o_O

Oh, I nearly forgot… Those “but your boyfriend, blablablablah” that I get all the time… Yeah, see, he’s him, I’m me.

I think it’s worse for him, because some morons are talking to him like I’m some pet he owns or something. I should obey, hahaha. Well, then…

Anyway… I said it previously, I refuse to be a Brian. (If you have to ask : Dear Brian)

Life is made to be enjoyed. (Although, my life sounds much more interesting and fun when it’s described by Youtubers and Crazy Corp… Yeah, how to make you feel you’re missing out on life in 5mn or so… Just kidding, I got all I need here…or kind of here…)

Eat good food, enjoy life, have fun (responsibly…), and yeah…

If you have to hate, well then, I’m too French for you…

(Note that I don’t use certain words in order to not trigger any word filter and in order to not bring bots/spammers in here. I always do that. Sorry for not calling a cat a cat…)
