What even ?…

I could have named this blog post “I need to vlog naked now ‘not bait for clicking’ “, but I thought it was too unharmonious… Nah, just kidding, I’m afraid someone would claim they own a patent on this type of titles and try and take my blog down or something.

I’ve deleted the “over troll” video. I would take action if anybody were to lie. “Someone” bought this outfit for me from a very well known shop (an outlet located in mainland China), it’s from a respectable brand. Now I never claimed it was from another brand at all.  I genuinely didn’t know one could patent such a generic pattern…abroad…in other countries. I’m only deleting the video because it’s escalating and I refuse to be used as a tool of propaganda.

Now, to be clear : I have not been contacted at all. Legally, if it were really about IP protection, you have to follow a protocol and contact the person (it’s not even Cymellia related, since I make these videos as a hobby and do not earn money from them), send a “cease and desist” email. I received none of this. You can contact me from this blog, you can contact me from the Cymellia website. We received nothing. I didn’t ask our web hosts yet, I’ll check with them. I don’t understand all the fuss and stuff posted online. If it actually has nothing to do with the actual brand, then I apologise, but they need to sort their stuff. What even is this ??

Please, let’s not jump to conclusions. My blog  was barely reachable for a few days, I still have difficulties to reach it  from the bad OS (I have no problem when I’m using Mint), but it might really be a coincidence and technical stuff.

And yeah, please spare me the “we contacted the person you might not even know and that has nothing to do with Cymellia”, that’s not how business works.

Now, I don’t check stuff and it might just be unrelated here. It’s just that with everything that is going on, we might just take stuff globally, instead of independent events that are occurring. I don’t know. I just know that’s not how you do business. Again, if it has nothing to do with the brand and is the result of some activism from a 3rd party, then I apologise to the brand. But this looks bad.

So, I’ve delete the blogpost and video since I don’t think it’s worth the hassle. Personally I think it’s legally ok for me, since I did nothing wrong, I was wearing a shirt that someone legally bought from a reputable shop, nobody ever claimed it was from this brand, there’s something about foreign patents from other countries, I don’t know… And, as a customer, be it for clothing or softwares, I shouldn’t have to worry about this.

I would pursue legal action if anybody were to say otherwise. Now, what is being said is that if you are in another country, where this brand has patents, and were to post screenshots from that video, you might or might not, I don’t know, get in legal troubles ? That’s another reason why I deleted it. Please do not post screenshots from this video if you are from a country where anything and everything can be claimed by companies. I decline all responsibility.

I’ve been advised to re edit the video, blacken the shirt (so that it’s plain black or plain another colour). I don’t know how to do this. I’ll check if there’s a way to do it.

I really don’t like what is going on. When it comes to copyright and IP, there’s a legal way to handle things. I really think, and it’s just my personal opinion, and I might be wrong, that it’s about something else…

I refuse to be used for propaganda.

And also, I love my Tiger… And I love gifts (from him, don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to beg all of you for stuff, I’m just subliminally talking to my Tiger… ^_^ )
